Tiziana Longo
"Dance has the power to dig beyond our daily perception and conceptual word. I don't dance to show some skill or something. I have nothing to show but to share. In my dance I don´t move I am moved by. But by what? Such a question throw me to experience what I can’t define. And when I share it on stage I pray that whatever it was , it is and it will be ...may be rich for everybody, audience and me and may it leave something in the air between. May a flower bloom in the space ...may the wind blow...May the audience can hear a crane´s song“.
Tiziana Longo is born in Sicily, choreographer, dancer, teacher and co-founder of Motimaru Dance Company.
She has studied modern dance since childhood and after B.A. in Performing Arts at Bologna University, she moved to Japan to study at the Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio. She has researched at Keio Art University crossing points between Euro-Asian performing arts (Artaud/Grotowski/Tatsumi Hijikata and Pina Bausch/Kazuo Ohno). She has been working for several years with Yoshito Ohno, son of Kazuo Ohno, as stage assistant and dancer, and has been selected as Fellowship for Young Artists Program by Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan in 2006. After leaving Japan, she has started field work researches of local and traditional dances in South India, Nepal, and Bali.
She has been performing at “Milano Danza Festival 2009”, “Venezia Biennale 2010”, “No Ballet 2014”, “Lucky Trimmer 2016”, Hildesheim University, Academy of Media Arts Cologne, etc., and in more than 35 cities in Europe, Australia and Japan.
